We used similar testing procedures with all the carts to provide fair and uniform results. Most will have a low center of gravity and a flat bottom for added stability. Quality models are easy to maneuver and offer plenty of carrying capacity. Then we took them over rough terrain and down slopes, really pushing them to their limits to deem how well they handle.Īdditionally, we inspected each cart’s construction to ensure the necessary durability to withstand outdoor elements and occasional garden mishaps. We loaded them down with the gear gardeners, landscapers, and DIYers would typically haul around. We tested a variety of garden carts-both light-duty and heavy-duty models-to see if they lived up to the manufacturer’s claims. In general, garden carts offer more stability than wheelbarrows that have only a single wheel, which makes them prone to tipping under heavy loads. Overall very pleased with the quality of workmanship on this heavy duty cart.A garden cart is a wagon with two or more wheels used to tote garden tools or materials, such as earth, stones, and plants. The pull handle also easily converts from a hand pull to a tow bar for a riding mower or UTV. We are using it to transport trash cans down a long driveway to the curb, landscaping use, and for moving pieces of machinery in a metal fab shop. The front panel has a plastic guard for the handle to rest upon to prevent damage during frequent use. For larger loads the sides can be quickly removed. The steel deck is strong and provides for the 1200 lb capacity of the cart. The cart rides smoothly on 13 inch pneumatic tires and is very stable. Assembly hint: use a little bearing or lithium grease on the axles and rotating attachment point for the front axle. Less than 10 minutes to unbox and assemble. The wheels and handle attach quickly with linch pins. Only 4 bolts with nuts & washers are used for assembly and are included. Very easy to assemble with the included diagrams and instructions. Selected this utility cart for multiple uses around the house and shop. If you were unhappy with an old Gorilla Cart, I would definitely recommend giving a new one a try! I wish the bar, connected to the front axel, was an inch longer (when turning, the Arm hits the bottom corners, if it is up high), and wish the yellow plastic protection strip was longer (throwing up the Arm, when it is not relatively straight, the Arm hits the metal). Not sure how often I will be removing the side panels, but it is a quick easy option, if needed. It is 60 Pounds, and for me, easy to move around. I have big hand and it is much more comfortable than the skinnier grips. As for use, I love the beefier handle grip on this. The wheels are held on by Linch Pins (which are much nicer than Cotter Pins). Only things not mentioned, makes sure the Valve Stem on tires is facing out, and you need to tighten the Cage Latches (to prevent the sides from rattling). Directions had no words, but pictures were self evident. It was extremely easy to assemble, and only tool needed was an Adjustable Wrench. The grate design of this allows water, and too small to burn debris, to go through. I find the plastic tubs on the Dump Carts, are great for no rust, but they collect water and I only use the dump feature to empty debris and rainwater. I have 12 Acres of land, and heat with the wood, I cut and haul using hand carts, and use them nearly every day. When I was offered this one through Seeds, I was excited to get it. The second was a huge design improvement, and when I had a problem with it, the Customer Service at Gorilla was great which encouraged me to get my third. If not for a Home Depot Clearance Sale, I probably would have never bought another. The first one I got, was pretty poorly designed (hard to turn, and tips over when full going up a hill). This is my 4th Gorilla Cart, but my first non-Dump Cart.
